Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, state-of-the-art dental care. We understand that you or your child may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. You are not alone. Our practice puts forth an extra effort to make sure that you are comfortable and have your questions answered every time you visit our practice. Our staff will work with you so that expenses are understood and insurance claims are filed correctly.

We recommend regular checkups for individuals age two and up. Most people find it is valuable to have a checkup at least every six months. On your first visit, Dr. Isaacson or Dr. Barclay will go over your complete health and dental history, and discuss any concerns that you have confidentially and privately. Please bring an up to date medications list, both prescription and over the counter, and a history of any surgeries or major illnesses. We will take a set of X-rays so that we can examine your smile and make treatment recommendations. The X-rays allow us to see decay, malformed roots, teeth that haven't erupted yet, absesses, calculus and periodontal disease. We will thoroughly examine your head and neck, check to see how your teeth fit together, note the amount of wear on your teeth, and take note of the type of fillings you have. We will check the health of your mouth-teeth, gums, cheeks and tongue. Please allow at least 60 minutes for the complete exam and X-rays.

During your first visit, we will discuss our findings with you. If more time is needed, we will schedule you back for another appointment to make sure that we have time to answer all your questions.

Between your initial appointment and your next appointment, our front desk will give you a treatment plan that lists the cost of each recommended procedure, how much your insurance will cover, and what your portion is. When it's time for your next dental appointment, please call (206) 443-1788 and our office staff will be ready to help you schedule an appointment.
